Sink's official bio
With the release of their debut album ‘Ossicles’ in 2015, Sink announced a unique acoustic, instrumental sound. Holding improvisation at its core and rooted in diverse musical traditions, spontaneous inspiration vies with crafted composition and ultimately fuses the distinct voices of accordion, violin and saxophone into a powerfully coherent whole appropriating extremes of harmonic precision and chaotic dissonance.
With their live performances including vocal and percussive elements, Sink apply their sound in a variety of musical contexts, from concert venues and music festivals to site-specifc performances in unusual spaces, collaborations with artists of all disciplines and the composition and performance of original soundtracks to silent films.
Influenced among others by Beethoven, Cage, Zorn and Leon’s dog Daisy, yet undefined by any genre, Sink pull visceral and extraordinary music out of thin air.
