Tim Cumming is a poet and journalist from London. He was born in Father Hudson’s Children’s Home in 1963. He grew up in the west country and has lived in London since 1982. His first collection, The Miniature Estate was published in 1991, and subsequent books include Apocalypso (1999), Contact Print (2002), The Rumour (2004), and The Rapture (2011). Etruscan Miniatures, a chapbook of 12 poems and six paintings by Cumming, was published by Pitt St Poetry in Australia in 2012. He is currently compiling Inappropriate Content: New, Selected & Uncollected, which will appear sometime after 2015.
Since 2007, he has made a number of film poems that have been shown in cinemas and festivals in London, the UK, and worldwide, including Port Eliot, Novi Sad International Literature Festival (Serbia), VideoBardo (Argentina) and Visible Verse (Vancouver), which screened his latest film, Flowers VIMEO: vimeo.com/26440991
His work has appeared in three editions of The Forward Book of Poetry, its 2004 Best of the Decade anthology, and Bloodaxe Books’ major 2010 anthology, Identity Parade.
