Tom Paley's official bio

Tom Paley is one of the legendary survivors of the American folk scene. He played and sang with America’s greatest folk hero Woody Guthrie and he made regular visits to Leadbelly’s NY apartment. Later, he became a founding member of the massively influential New Lost City Ramblers in which he worked alongside Mike Seeger and John Cohen to revive old-time styles from before the Second World War.

Tom’s second album for Hornbeam Recordings is shared with his son Ben. It follows on from the roaring success of “Roll On, Roll On”. Tom is passing on the baton to Ben who weighs in with some wonderful fiddle playing.
Guest appearances from musician & broadcaster Cerys Matthews, dobro maestro BJ Cole and harmonica whiz Rob Mason provide the icing on the cake.
