Ceilidh Liberation Front are London’s most radical and colourful ceilidh band. Subverting and converting the world with their energetic new ceilidh regime, they breathe vigour and vitality into the traditional ceilidh, whilst honouring its roots and traditions.
“Sweat-busting abandon, subverted dances and party tunes” – Time Out
“Taking the traditional ceilidh as its starting point, but ripping up the rule book, souping up the music and subverting the dance moves. No experience is necessary” – Londonist
United under the banner of The Nest Collective, the go-to for worldwide roots music, CLF are the brainchild of Mercury music prize nominee Sam Lee, who brought together some of the finest musicians and charismatic callers, with the most uplifting and inspiring tunes and dances. Their repertoire mixes the traditional with the brand new and the occasional spontaneous improvisation! They’ve torn up dancefloors at Southbank Centre, Sadler’s Wells, Glastonbury, and Wilderness, amongst many.
This small army of virtuoso musicians from the four corners of the land, are firmly rooted in the soils of Britain’s rich traditional music history, nurtured by years of playing, exploring, collaborating and innovating, and are now blossoming together in this fantastical formation. Combining music, dance, and a sprinkling of theatricals, this is ceilidh music as you’ve never heard (or seen) it before. Don’t forget your dancing shoes when you go down to the ceilidh.

The Rules of Ceilidh
The event was totally packed, and full of high energy, great fun, and good spirit from start to finish…we would love to have them back again!’ – Southbank Centre
The ceilidh was absolutely brilliant, everyone had such a fun (and energetic!) evening – from the avid dancers to the grumpy old men in the corner who were up on their feet in no time!
