The Rheingans Sisters

Critics have rapturously received The Rheingans Sisters latest album, Already Home, with its rich tapestry of fiddle and voice performed by two players of distinct style and reference. Spellbinding fiddle-singers Rowan & Anna, grew up in the Peak District & are steeped in traditional music from Britain, France, Scandinavia & beyond. Rowan performs with Lady Maisery, Nancy Kerr’s Sweet Visitor Band, Eliza Carthy & Karine Polwart in Songs of Separation. Anna holds a 1st. class diploma from the Conservatoire Occitan.

Their music incorporates Northern and Southern European traditions, encompassing folk music, Rowan’s songwriting skills, and Anna’s talents as a composer.

‘The Rheingans Sisters are delicate and skilled musicians who refresh their traditions by embellishing known themes in their own particular style, creating sounds that are recognisably grounded in the earth of folk music and song, yet flying to new destinations.’ – Nancy Kerr (2015 BBC Folk Singer of the Year)

A new partnership for 2016, Folk at The Foundling brings traditional music from the British Isles and beyond to the unique surroundings of The Foundling Museum. Explore the history of the Foundling Hospital – the UK’s first children’s charity and public art gallery – and soak up acoustic music in this intimate setting.
