The Old Queens Head | May 25th 2016
A monthly evening of the finest folk music live at the Old Queens Head in Islington
“When Molsky plays, you can practically hear the floorboards and rocking chair creak on the back porch.” – Tony Hillier, Rhythms Magazine
Where does one start when describing who Bruce Moslky is? Returning for his annual show at the Nest Collective every year we experience the same phenomenon .. a sold out room in hushed reverential silence, young and old and every one jaw dropped in awe of one of the finest, most effortlessly elegant and deeply connected musicians the world of traditional solo instrumentalists has ever heard. Old time North American music is his matter be it sung or on Fiddle, Banjo or Guitar and without question he is a complete master of this music. But master in the true sense of the word, one who has dedicated his life and attention to not just the craft but the embodiment of his instruments, and the honouring of those before him who have carried the art form revealing a rare modesty on stage. Moslky forgoes the histrionics and displays of a virtuoso but lures his listeners into a trance subtly and wisely weaving a breathless, wide-eyed wonder in every person in the room! get your ticket quick for this one as The Moslky never fails to fill out our modest Old Queens Head room.
