Rediscover one of life’s simplest joys – the sharing of live music in the glow of a campfire.
Every summer, we gather in beautiful green spaces within cities to hear extraordinary music by artists from all over the world.
In the simple way that people have done for thousands of years, we come together around the fire to enjoy music, food, drink and the company of others.
For this Campfire Club we are delighted to present Jon Wilks.
Jon Wilks is a journalist, previously the editor of Time Out Abu Dhabi and Time Out Tokyo, as well as an occasional contributor to The Guardian, Dazed & Confused, The Japan Times and several other publications. He writes and edits Tradfolk.co, a website about folk music and traditions, and performs traditional folk music concerts when people let him. He also presents The Old Songs Podcast.
His live shows are an amusing mix of folk song performance and conversation, throwing in tidbits of weird and wonderful information about the original singers and collectors that he has come across during his writing research.
