Kay Rowan (she/her) is a trans composer, songwriter, actor, music(er) and word(er), currently based in London. Having grown up immersed in both the worlds of classical music and folk song, she frequently crashes them together as a crafter of pensive musings under the moniker ghostgirl, alternating between arrangements of traditional tunes to modern day existential dreads. Recently, she has released LINGER and STEP OUT OF THE SHADE, and is currently working on developing a full ghostgirl EP. She has also composed music extensively for stage and screen, most recently for Bold Mellon’s physical theatre ballet ‘KLAZO’, as well as for Myst Production’s short film ‘Sail in the Wind’. You can usually find her having an existential crisis, or writing a poem about one.
