
KATHERINE ABBOTT
Katherine Abbott is a singer-songwriter from Stratford upon Avon UK. Influenced by artists including Nirvana , Mazzy Star, Lana Del Rey, Joni Mitchell and Elliot Smith; her style combines poetic lyrics and haunting melodies with evocative vocals. Her sound is often described as ethereal.
She has played shows across the UK, including at the annual Nick Drake gathering held in Tamworth in Arden, Europe, New Zealand and most recently in the USA where she created the music for a production of the ‘Rape of Lucrece ‘ by Shakespeare, performing alongside director and actor Elena Pellone for the annual Shakespeare gathering held in Portland, Oregon.
Katherine has has written and performed the music for Anarke Shakespeare productions in the UK, Germany and the USA.
Katherine currently lives in rural mid Wales where she is working on writing her next album and performing in local venues, frequently visiting her hometown in the Midlands to work with producer Jonathan Fletcher and London to record at SFJ Studios with producer Joshua Woolf.
Her singles ‘Lullaby for Lucas’ and ‘Wayward’ were premiered by Flaunt Magazine and American Songwriter and received worldwide radio play including BBC CWR. Her most recent releases include ‘Wings on Fire’ and ‘Freedom’ with ‘Pinch of Salt’ coming soon.
